EASILY SHIP

I know that shipping a firearm can feel complicated. It’s not, if you follow the right steps. This page walks through everything you need to know. If your situation isn’t covered here, reach out and ask before you ship.

02.

HOW TO SHIP

Step 1: Complete your project intake form first.

  • Do not ship anything before your project has been reviewed and you’ve received a confirmation from me. I’ll provide shipping instructions and my FFL information at that stage.

Step 2: Package your firearm properly.

  • Ensure the firearm is unloaded. Seriously—double-check! And absolutely no ammunition in the box.
  • Wrap in a soft cloth or bubble wrap and place in a sturdy box.
  • Do not leave loose parts rattling around inside.
  • Seal the box securely with quality tape.

Step 3: Declare and insure.

  • Declare the contents as “Firearm — Unloaded” when required by the carrier.
  • Insure your shipment for the full replacement value.
  • Require signature confirmation on delivery.

Step 4: Use the correct carrier.

  • Handguns: UPS or FedEx only (adult signature required).
  • Long guns: USPS, UPS, or FedEx.
  • Do not use carriers that do not permit firearms (some regional carriers and freight services).

Step 5: Notify me with your tracking number.

  • Email me your tracking number once your shipment is en route so I can watch for your delivery and log it in.

Return Shipping:

Once your project is complete and you’ve approved the finished work:
  • I pack your firearm with care, in a sturdy box with protective wrap.
  • I insure the outbound shipment at declared value.
  • A tracking number is emailed when the shipment is dropped off.

Standard return ground shipping within the continental US is included in your project cost. Expedited shipping is available at cost.

Compliance Matters

DO NOT Ship Ammunition (Don’t!)

Please don’t include any ammunition in your shipment.

Shipping Non-Serialized Parts

Non-serialized parts include: barrels, slides (without serial numbers), handguards, stocks, grips, triggers, and other components that are not themselves serialized.

You can ship non-serialized parts to me using any standard carrier (USPS, UPS, FedEx) without special restrictions. Package them securely, describe the contents accurately, and insure the shipment for their replacement value.

No FFL involvement is required for non-serialized parts.

Shipping Serialized Firearms & Receivers

A serialized item is any firearm or receiver that bears a serial number — including pistols, rifles, shotguns, stripped lowers (which are legally defined as firearms), and registered NFA items.

Can I ship my firearm directly to you without going through an FFL?

Generally yes — if you legally own the firearm and are sending it to me for gunsmithing or coating services. Federal law (18 U.S.C. § 922) permits a non-licensee to ship their own firearm to a licensed dealer or gunsmith for service. I am a licensed FFL 07 manufacturer and gunsmith. You can ship directly to me.

Handguns vs. Long Guns:

Handguns must be shipped via common carrier (UPS or FedEx). USPS does not permit non-licensees to ship handguns.

Long guns (rifles, shotguns) may be shipped via USPS, UPS, or FedEx.

Where does the return go?

For non-serialized parts: I can return to any address you specify.

For serialized firearms: I return directly to you at the address on file.

State-Specific Considerations:

Some states have additional restrictions on the shipment of firearms. I will serve clients in all states where it is legal to do so. If you’re in a state with unusual restrictions (California, New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts, Hawaii, etc.), ask me during intake, and I’ll advise on your specific situation

International & APO/FPO Shipping

At this time, I only accept shipments from within the United States. If you’re stationed overseas with an APO/FPO address, reach out before shipping, and I’ll walk you through what’s possible. Sorry, but I can’t accept international shipments from non-US residents.

Lost or Damaged Packaging

I do my best to pack everything securely and insure all outbound shipments for their full value. For inbound shipments, please use plenty of padding and insurance! If something goes missing or is damaged during shipping, I’ll help however I can—but ultimately, the carrier’s insurance will be your main recourse. If you have any issues, let me know right away, and we’ll work together on a solution.
